Laura-Corina Rosca graduated from the Faculty of Letters of BabesBolyai University Cluj-Napoca. In 2004 she obtained a Master s degree at the Department of Comparative Literature of the Faculty of Letters and in 2014 a Master s degree in British Cultural Studies at the Department of English Language and Literature of the same faculty. She earned her Ph. D. degree in 2009 at the Faculty of Letters of Babes-Bolyai University with a thesis on contemporary paideic paradigms and Romanian cultural identity. She is the author of Varstele uceniciei. Repere paideice contemporane for which she won the debut prize of the Writers Union of Romania Cluj-Napoca branch in 2015. In 2018 she was awarded a research fellowship at the English Department of the University of Z rich Switzerland. Her research interests include new approaches in teaching English for specific purposes. The course is aimed at those who have basic knowledge of general English but who want to acquire the vocabulary specific to the medical style and at the same time deepen the lexical-grammatical subtleties in order to be able to express orally or in writing in English their opinions on problems in the field or be up to date with the information explosion in medicine by consulting treatises and specialist journals.
