This model takes that classic look and combines it with an anatomically shaped headpiece and an anatomically shaped noseband. The headpiece is cut back around the ears and follows the shape of the neck instead of running straight over it. As a result the weight of the bridle rests over a wider surface behind the ears, and the strap does not pull in a narrow line against the base of the ears. In horses that react when you slide a straight headpiece over their ears, that is often the clearest difference. The noseband is likewise anatomically shaped and has a flash strap. Together those two form a combined noseband. The flash strap runs under the bit and keeps the bit sitting more quietly, which makes the contact steadier. The shape of the noseband follows the line of the nasal bone, so the strap makes contact across its full width instead of on one point. The leather is English leather: supple in the hand and with enough body to hold its shape. New leather feels somewhat stiff at first and becomes noticeably softer after a few weeks of riding and cleaning, after which it moulds to your horses head. The cream stitching is hand finished and outlines the lines of the headpiece, noseband and browband. The buckles are stainless steel. That is a deliberate choice for a bridle that goes out every day: stainless steel stays looking good through rain, sweat and cleaning products, and the buckle tongues wear more slowly than with softer fittings. This is a bridle for daily training as much as for the ring. It is built around fit and durability, not around decoration.
