No Angel

Religious texts from The Bible to the Sumerian tablets speak of strange creatures descending from the heavens and mating with humans, their children the superhuman heroes of myth. None of this ever meant anything to Iraq War veteran Hannah Gregory, until she found herself in the crosshairs of a dangerous cult convinced that she's a descendant of these mysterious bloodlines... bloodlines they're determined to eradicate. Collects issues 1-4. Adrianne Palicki knows a thing or two about superheroes, having starred as Mockingbird in ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (the character was originally slated to get her own spinoff series, Marvel's Most Wanted, but ABC eventually decided not to move forward with the show). Now, she's turning her expertise to an actual superhero comic. No Angel, co-written by Adrianne and her brother Eric Palicki, follows a woman named Hannah Gregory, an Iraq War veteran who returns to her small town following her father's murder. Hannah quickly realizes that all is not as it seems, and that she may in fact be descended from an ancient race of superhumans foretold in Sumerian tablets and the Book of Genesis. \n - Entertainment Weekly The comics debut of actress Adrianne Palicki highlights the third wave of titles from Black Mask Studios. Palicki, the Friday Night Lights actress who starred as Marvel heroine Mockingbird in Agent of SHIELD, is writing No Angel with her brother, Eric Palicki. The latter's credits include writing on Marvel's Guardians of Infinity animated series. \n - The Hollywood Reporter Pure insanity, in the most awesome way possible. - Matthew Dow Smith (The X-Files, The October Girl) NO ANGEL heralds a remarkable new--yet not entirely unfamiliar--voice in comics. It's fun, smart reading that makes you want the next one right away. - Jeph Loeb (Captain America: White, Daredevil: Yellow) \n
