Northumberland in Photographs - Nathan Atkinson

Descriere Northumberland in Photographs - Nathan Atkinson

Northumberland, the northernmost county in England, on the border of Scotland, boasts a spectacular variety of landscapes from the Cheviot Hills in the north-west of the county, high moorland, the Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest, the spectacular geological feature of the Great Whin Sill to the North Sea coast and the Farne Islands. Its rich and diverse heritage can be seen throughout the county too, from evidence of Roman ancestors at Hadrian's Wall, early Christian sites, medieval castles, market towns, picturesque villages and harbour towns to its proud industrial heritage around the city of Newcastle. \n \n Photographers Nathan Atkinson and Simon McCabe have captured Northumberland's essence in this collection of stunning images, displaying the county at its best. For those who are proud to live in the county, as well as those visiting, this book is a must. Look through these photographs and you will quickly see why this corner of England has such enduring appeal. \n
