Descriere The Anne of Green Gables Collection - Volumes 1-3 (Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island) - L. M. Montgomery

\n \nIn this collection we bring together the first three books in the 'Anne of Green Gables' Series which tells the tale of a little red headed orphaned girl, mistakenly sent to the Cutherbert's farm on Prince Edward Island. Anne's strong character and vivid imaginaton both help and hinder her as she makes her way through life on the island.\n \nThese early works by Lucy Maud Montgomery, originally published between 1908 and 1915, are now republished here with a brand new introductory biography. Lucy Maud Montgomery was born on 30th November 1874, New London, in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island. Her mother, Clara Woolner (Macneil), died before Lucy reached the age of two and so she was raised by her maternal grandparents in a family of wealthy Scottish immigrants. In 1908 Montgomery produced her first full-length novel, titled 'Anne of Green Gables'. It was an instant success, and following it up with several sequels, Montgomery became a regular on the best-seller list and an international household name.\n
