The Kunekune pig is one of the smallest of all domesticated pigs. The name Kunekune comes from a Maori word which means 'fat and round'. This is perfectly descriptive of the appearance of this unusual variety of pigs. With the growing popularity of the Kunekune pigs as pets, a lot has been studied and researched about the breed. Although they are native to New Zealand, these pigs have become a global favorite among farm owners and pig lovers. The personality of the Kunekune is responsible for the growing interest in these animals as pets.
