Paul's Song: A Christian Guide for Parents of Incarcerated Children - Penny Kirksey

Descriere Paul's Song: A Christian Guide for Parents of Incarcerated Children - Penny Kirksey

\n \nWhen Penny Kirksey looked into her adopted infant son's eyes, she didn't realize the challenges that lay ahead for both of them. As he grew up, things did not go as planned, and she found herself as a mother of a young man battling drug addiction who had strayed far from God. In desperation, she released her son to the Lord, asking Him to do whatever it took to bring her son back into the kingdom of God. Within a month, her son was arrested on a federal charge and found himself behind bars.\n \n \n Paul's Song: A Christian Guide for Parents of Incarcerated Children by Penny Kirksey is a compelling memoir, collection of letters, and resource for parents of incarcerated children all wrapped into one. Inspired by how Paul and Silas sang songs of praise in prison and freed the captives, Penny began to write daily devotionals to her son, breaking down the passages of Scripture included and teaching him how to seek the Lord on his own.\n \n \n This moving book takes a look at the issue of incarceration from a holistic point of view--acknowledging the actions of the adult children which led to their current circumstance but also looking at how parents can actually be Christian enablers and be inadvertently used by the enemy to help keep their children from establishing strong relationships with the Lord on their own. Whether your child is physically incarcerated or experiencing some other bondage or stronghold, this book will guide you as a parent while you seek to minister and help draw your child back to the Lord. It's true that there's nothing like a parent's love, but even that pales in comparison next to the deep, abiding love we experience from our Father. \n \n
