\nFor generations, thousands upon thousands of young American men and women have paid the ultimate price, giving their lives for their country when at war. Many have gone to perform their service and duty, in all branches of the U.S. military, and have done so with the hope of making America a better, more secure place to live: to raise families, live freely, and follow the pursuit of happiness. So many young soldiers have bet their lives on this bargain, and thousands more have given up their physical and mental health, to uphold the American Dream. This American stock of the drafted and volunteered youth of war, bet their lives on this dream and lost. And, many surviving veterans and their families are plagued with problematic questions that persist in their demand for an answer: Why? Was war necessary for the safety and protection of our country or others? Was my child's life wasted for a government or politician's personal agenda for political gain? In this candid, heartfelt, and morally searching memoir, American Stock, author and retired U.S.A.F. Chief Master Sergeant Terry Savoie seeks to find answers and personal peace to these pressing questions by sharing his own life and story, and a military career that spanned from 1968 to 1993. Within these pages, at turns heartwarming and nostalgic, other times horrific and heartbreaking, the author shares his journey and personal post-war healing found in God's Word, in addition to his call to hold our elected officials accountable for stewarding the health and healing of our country's soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines, now and forever.
