\n \n \n\n \n \n\n \nAt the center of the great forest of Avaris lies the sacred wood of Ystrac, god of the hunt and the wilderness-and the wild terror of hunted things. This fear emanates so powerfully from the godwood that most travelers who would pass along its winding road can barely step past the boundary marker. All that keeps the fear at bay are the lanterns, lit by mysterious, ever-burning flames and tended faithfully by the priests of Talesyn, the god of poets.\n \n \n\n \nAneth is a dedicate of Ystrac, and as part of her service to him, she is charged to face the godwood's fear and open her heart to it, guiding travelers along the road and seeing them safe on their way on the other side.\n \n \n\n \nCorentin is a priest of Talesyn, and for his service, he has sworn to walk the lantern path and do what needs must to ensure the lanterns' flames burn bright for years to come-whatever the cost to himself, whatever oaths or sacrifices he must make.\n \n \n\n \nNeither of them is precisely what the other would expect... But then, neither is their journey along the lantern path.\n \n \n\n \n \nAt the center of the forest lies the sacred wood of Ystrac, god of the wilderness and the wild terror of hunted things. None can walk the path without knowing that terror.\n \n \n\n \nBut through the sacred wood runs the a road hung with lanterns dedicated to Talesyn, the god of poets and fire - and in the ever-burning flame of his lanterns, travelers are granted a brief respite from fear.\n \n \n\n \nTwo people meet at the boundary marker. One is dedicated to the god of the wood, charged to face what the forest holds and open her heart to it joyfully. \n \n \n\n \nThe other is dedicated to the god of the flame, and he has come to tend the lanterns and ensure their flames burn bright for years to come, no matter what he must sacrifice to do it.\n \n \n\n \nThe fear presses close on every side - but there is a job to do, a path to walk, and a friend to guide the way.\n
