Muslims in India - Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi

Descriere Muslims in India - Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi

\n \nIn this book, Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi explores the achievements of Indian Muslims and their celebrated efforts in the fields of world literature and the fine arts. They are credited with the remarkable achievement of contributing to classical Arabic and Persian literature - certainly unique in the annals of world literature. Nadwi offers a fitting answer to those historians who consider The Mughal Empire period to be akin to the 'dark ages.' He also dedicates a whole chapter to the outstanding Muslim personalities and Sufi saints of India. The role of Muslims in the struggle for freedom is covered in detail, beginning with Tipu Sultan in the early days of British imperialist rule - through to partition. Broad in its scope and detailed in its execution, Muslims In India is an enthusiastic study of the culture that flourished when India and Islam converged.\n
