\n \nEver since antiquity, philosophers have recognized that truth comes in \n \n many modes, so that a proposition may not only be true or false, but \n \n also e.g. necessary or possible. These ideas led to the modern field \n \n of modal logic, a lively are of research at the intersection of \n \n philosophy, mathematics, and computer science.\n \n \n \n Nowadays, the term modal logic is understood in a broad sense, which \n \n allows it to be used for reasoning about seemingly unrelated phenomena \n \n such as knowledge, obligations, time, space, and proofs, among many \n \n others. Actual research in modal logic draws on techniques from many \n \n disciplines including complexity theory, combinatorics, universal \n \n algebra, category theory, topology, and proof theory.\n \n \n \n These proceedings record the papers presented at the 2022 Advances in \n \n Modal Logic, a biennial conference series with an aim to report on \n \n important new developments in pure and applied modal logic. The topics \n \n in this edition include constructive and substructural modal logic, \n \n unification, algebraic and neighbourhood semantics, proof theory and \n \n complexity of modal logics, and verification in modal logic.\n \n \n\n
