Descriere Bone of His Bone - F. J. Huegel

\nF. J. Huegel's inspiring manual instructs ordinary Christians to not live in imitation of Jesus Christ, but journey beyond this by being mindful of Christ's life and teachings, thus attaining closeness to God.\n \nA moving and authentic guidebook of faith, Bone of His Bone struck an immediate chord upon first publication in 1940. F. J. Huegel's tone and style of writing rings with sublime clarity, permitting the reader a great ease comprehension and understanding. Having witnessed carnage and horror first-hand as a chaplain in World War I, Huegel is in superb position to educate and assure his readers.\n \nHuegel frames his narrative with frequent quotation of the scripture, supporting the various ideas and advice with passages of the Old and New Testament. This authenticity, coupled with the tone of devotion and dedication, makes this book a worthy resource for any Christian seeking advice; Huegel differentiates the theological canon with one's everyday life, noting that Christ's behavior and deeds may be treated as a starting point, rather than an ending in themselves.\n \nAlthough Bone of His Bone represents a break of opinion with famous authors such as Thomas à Kempis, it is with the truest humility and grace that F. J. Huegel advances his views on how Christians may best adhere to God. This abiding belief - that true satisfaction and joy results from participation in Christ's teachings, rather than in imitation of His life - makes Bone of His Bone a text worthy of attention.\n \n \n\n
