Descriere The Lost Books of the Bible A.K.A, the Apocryphal New Testament - William Hone

\nThis compilation of the lost books of the Bible is essential reading for anyone interested in biblical history and theology. These non-canonical scriptures, deemed inappropriate and contradictory by early Church councils, provide telling details into the early lives of Mary and Jesus, adding surprising depth to the figures of the New Testament and a better understanding of life during the first century AD. This new edition includes 32 illustrations from the original 1820 publication. An English bookseller, publisher, and journalist, WILLIAM HONE (1780-1842) is known mostly for his satirical works and his struggle for the freedom of the English press. His books include The Political House that Jack Built, Ancient Mysteries Explained, and the Everyday Book.
