Evangelicals and Mormons: Exploring the Boundaries - Robert L. Millet

Descriere Evangelicals and Mormons: Exploring the Boundaries - Robert L. Millet

Scholars and close friends McDermott and Millet debate the person and role of Jesus while exploring such issues as authority for faith and practice, whether Mormons are Christians, what salvation means, and the church and its sacraments. \nThough sometimes on opposite poles, scholars and close friends Gerald McDermott and Robert Millet are determined to model love and respect despite serious theological differences. In a debate format, the authors focus on the person and role of Jesus while exploring such issues as authority for faith and practice, whether Mormons are Christians, what salvation means, and the church and its sacraments. This volume will give thoughtful readers of all persuasions a greater understanding of two significant approaches to the meaning of Jesus and faith. \n Robert L. Millet (PhD, Florida State University) is Abraham O. Smoot University Professor and Professor of Religious Education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and the author of numerous books and articles. \n Gerald R. McDermott (PhD, University of Iowa) is Jordan-Trexler Professor of Religion at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Baylor Institute for Studies of Religion, and the author or editor of twelve books.
