How to Be Your Own Best Editor: An Essential Toolkit for Everyone Who Writes. - Barry Tarshis

Descriere How to Be Your Own Best Editor: An Essential Toolkit for Everyone Who Writes. - Barry Tarshis

\nIn contrast to most how-to-writing books, How to be Your Own Best Editor focuses on one of the most imposing challenges you need to confront as a writer: editing your own work. With insight, precision, and wit, author Barry Tarshis introduces you to concepts and easy-to-use mental tools that will enable do more than simply spot typos or uncover grammar errors when your reviewing something you've just written. What you'll learn how to do instead once you're read this book is to recognize when your writing, quite apart from its content, isn't delivering that content as clearly, concisely, or as engaging as you would like it to be-and, more important, what to do to make your writing more readable. How to Be Your Own Best Editor is the most valuable book of its kind I have read since Strunk and White's The Elements of Style-and is a good deal more fun to read. I will refer to again and again. Eric Burns, former broadcast journalist, whose 16 published works include Broadcast Blues, Joy of Books, the Spirits of America, and Infamous Scribblers
