\n \nWith scores of books already in print about the American Revolution in North Carolina, what makes this work different? Most historians merely offer a broad-brushed canvas with an overview of a very complex human struggle, and those works are fine for those who simply want to absorb only a few highlights. \n \n \n\n \nThis three-volume set provides a very detailed and comprehensive narrative that has never been told before and is mostly told by thousands of those who were actually there. This three-volume set is certainly intended for the serious-minded Revolutionary War wonk who simply cannot get enough first-hand accounts, even if some accounts often contradict one another. Since there were so many players during the eight years that North Carolina Patriots fought for their freedom, it is impossible to tell a single story with a single viewpoint. There are literally thousands of voices to be heard, each with their own small tale adding to the mosaic of the overall narrative.\n
