Descriere Star Myths of the World, and How to Interpret Them: Volume Four: Norse Mythology - David Warner Mathisen

\n \nDavid Warner Mathisen, author of seven previous books investigating the connection between the myths and the stars, explores the Norse myths in a way you have never seen before, providing the most comprehensive examination yet of the evidence that the world's ancient myths, scriptures and sacred stories from virtually every culture on our planet are built upon a worldwide system of celestial metaphor, using the infinite realm of the heavens to convey profound truths about the Invisible Realm: the Other Realm, the realm of spirit, the realm of the gods.\n \nStar Myths of the World, Volume Four: Norse Mythology begins with the Norse account of the creation, and ends with the inexorable approach of the day of Ragnarok, and along the way examines the identities of the Aesir and the Vanir, the great World Tree Yggdrasil, the gods and goddesses including Odin, Thor, Njord, Freyr, Freyja, Tyr, Loki, Baldr, Hod and others, as well as many of the most memorable adventures and stories preserved in the eddic texts.\n \nYou will see dramatic evidence which reveals the connections between specific constellations and celestial features in our night sky and the various characters and events in the ancient myths, as well as stunning connections to the myths and scriptures of other cultures, including those collected in the myths of ancient Greece, ancient India, ancient Egypt, the Bible, and even ancient Japan, as well as the sacred stories of the cultures of the Americas and of the far-flung islands of the Pacific. \n \nContains over 100 illustrations and star charts.\n \nOpen your eyes to an entirely new world, and begin to understand the world's ancient wisdom in an entirely new way, as you learn to listen to the ancient myths in the language they are actually speaking: the language of the stars.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
