In the Light of a Child: A Journey Through the 52 Weeks of the Year in Both Hemispheres for Children - Michael Hedley Burton

Descriere In the Light of a Child: A Journey Through the 52 Weeks of the Year in Both Hemispheres for Children - Michael Hedley Burton

\n \nFrom heaven above comes sunlight streaming; \nShining, blistening, and gleaming. \nMy silver crescent-cup is filled, \n(Be careful that it is not spilled), \nSuch joy weaves round me everywhere \nIn water and earth and in light-filled air. \nA wave of joy in me as well \nSprings from my heart, a surging swell. \nBy joy I'm taught my God to know. \nI am his child--He tells me so. \n(Northern Hemisphere, Easter)\n \nChildren live deeply in the experience of the seasons. Their unity with nature is initially unconscious and uncritical, and this Garden of Eden consciousness gradually fades as they become more self-aware and confront the outer world as I-beings. \n \nThe verses in this book help children bridge the gap from their unconscious connection with nature to a living feeling for the seasons that will stay with them through life.\n \nThese verses follow the course of the year, as inspired by Rudolf Steiner's Calendar of the Soul. The book is arranged so that par-ents, teachers, eurythmists, and chil-dren can follow the course of the year in both the northern and southern hemispheres.\n \n(Ages 4-9)\n
