Jungian Symbolism in Astrology - Alice O. Howell

Descriere Jungian Symbolism in Astrology - Alice O. Howell

Over the centuries astrology has been a source of help to many people. Today, Jungian depth psychology has proven to be of great value in the therapy process. In this book, Alice O. Howell has successfully merged the wisdom of both disciplines, forming a warm and symbiotic relationship between them. Presented as a series of semi-autobiographical letters to an analyst friend, the author presents her ideas with a rare combination of humor and wisdom. It is an exciting, landmark work that brings into play the insights of Carl Jung alongside those of respected astrologers such as Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar. Why and how astrology connects to the spiritual dimension is the underlying thrust of this book in which each chapter presents insightful, thought-provoking ideas and concepts that will help the reader better understand the chart from an esoteric perspective. Specific chapters focus on each of the planets, chart symbolism, karma, causality and synchronicity, ego and self, and the meaning of the chart. About this book, reviewers wrote: ...Jungian Symbolism in Astrology has an intimate and personal flavor that makes it an extraordinary pleasure to read. Richard Nolle, Dell Horoscope ...it can be enjoyed and understood by anyone with an interest in either Jung, astrology, or both. Kenneth Irving, American Astrology
