Descriere Corona Star Catchers: The Air Force Aerial Recovery Aircrews of the 6593d Test Squadron (Special), 1958-1972 - Robert D. Mulchay

Illustrated with colour and black and white photographs throughout. From the foreword: The Air Force personnel who flew in the C-119J and JC-130 aircraft were an essential piece of the Corona story. They were key to the recovery of the film capsules that the Corona photoreconnaissance satellites of the 1960's were returning to earth from orbit. The officers and enlisted crew were the elite few. Their stories not only give us a view inside the operation of Corona capsule recovery, but they also provide insight into how to carry out an efficient and effective Air Force program. These recollections provide an invaluable story during one of the most significant times in the history of national reconnaissance. The Intelligence Community and general public will gain knowledge and an appreciation of those who served.
