Failure to Thrive - C. C. Green

Descriere Failure to Thrive - C. C. Green

\nC. C. Green wrote Failure to Thrive - A Medical Student's Novel because she had no idea what she was getting into when she began medical school and wanted to share her experiences. The story follows three medical students who, almost overnight, are expected to graduate from tests and textbooks to working with real patients during their clinical rotations.\n \n \n \nDani, the stubborn writer with a non-traditional path to medicine, is handed a difficult patient her first day on the wards. Sam, the anxiety-riddled offspring of a surgical dynasty, reluctantly dives headfirst into the operating room. Anna, the disciplined perfectionist and team mom holding the group together, finds herself questioning the career choice of her dreams. Together, these friends will navigate some of the toughest parts of medical school - mistreatment by superiors, competition with peers, and the elusive idea of wellness, on top of the everyday woes of family drama, friendships, and dating.\n \n \n\n \nNot just for medical students, Failure to Thrive is meant for anyone who enjoys stories of overcoming adversity, unlikely friendships, and comedy as a coping mechanism. Most of all, it is a reminder of what it means to be human and how empathy can help heal us.\n
