\nJourney to the depths of the Vietnam War and the impact it had on the lives of American servicemembers in the poignant, powerful memoir from a true American hero. For history buffs, veterans, and anyone with a passion for the stories that shaped the modern American landscape comes a riveting memoir on the Vietnam War. Suicide India traces the experiences of William Lindsay, a second lieutenant during the conflict. Born in New England, Lindsay enlisted in the Marine Corps through the Platoon Leaders Class in 1967 while still enrolled in college. In the summer of 1969, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant. Lindsay later went on to complete USMC Basic School at Quantico, Virginia, and he finished Reconnaissance Replacement Training in San Diego, California. Lindsay deployed to Vietnam in January 1970. The book traces Lindsay's experience during the war, but it also focuses on what it was like building a life after the conflict, including Lindsay's return home, establishing a career, and the effect of his experiences on his personal life. With vivid detail and an accessible style, Suicide India illuminates the stress, fear, uncertainty, and sacrifice inherent in war. Lindsay's memoir offers incredible pathos, a dash of humor, and even rare glimpses into the mundane aspects of a serviceperson's life while deployed. Those who have experienced the complexities of war, along with their friends and families, will find exceptional value in this book.\n
