Descriere Lovecraftian Proceedings No. 5 - Elena Tchougounova-paulson

\nThis fifth volume of Lovecraftian Proceedings, gathering together the choicest papers delivered at the Dr. Henry Armitage Memorial Scholarship Symposium at the 2022 NecronomiCon, features an array of pioneering and provocative essays on numerous aspects of H. P. Lovecraft's work. N. R. Jenzen-Jones, George Colclough, and Hans-Christian Vortisch address a subject that has never been broached before-Lovecraft's complex relationship with firearms and his use of such weapons in his fiction. Benjamin Breyer studies Lovecraft's treatment of the continental drift theory in At the Mountains of Madness; Daniel J. Holmes and Joshua E. Shockley IV probe the influence of Lovecraft on video games, while Heather Miller focuses on Lovecraft's presence in punk rock. Other essays deal with such issues as the use of Lovecraftian elements by the controversial philosopher Nick Land; the role of sexuality (including homoeroticism and asexuality) in Lovecraft's life and work; Lovecraft's influence on Cormac McCarthy; and other vital subjects. Collectively, these papers point to the enduring status of H. P. Lovecraft as an author of inexhaustible depth and continued relevance in contemporary culture.\n
