SHADOW OVER THE FENS a gripping crime thriller with a huge twist - Joy Ellis

Descriere SHADOW OVER THE FENS a gripping crime thriller with a huge twist - Joy Ellis

\nFrom multi-million-selling Joy Ellis, one of Britain's best-loved crime writers, with over twenty number-one bestsellers.\n \n \n\n \nMeet Detective Nikki Galena. She will stop at nothing to avenge her daughter. Under the brooding skies of the Lincolnshire Fens, she pursues the most vicious criminals.\n \n \n\n \nTwo brutal killers are loose on the Fens.\n \n \n\n \nNikki is called out to a body recovered at the foot of St Saviour's Tower. A suicide.\n \n \n\n \nBut as she stares at the dead man lying in the reddish-brown river mud, his body impossibly twisted, the words freeze in her throat.\n \n \n\n \nNikki knows this man. She'd seen him just that day. He was coming over for coffee at the weekend.\n \n \n\n \nThe dead man is her neighbour, Martin Durham.\n \n \n\n \nWitnesses say he seemed scared to death of something.\n \n \n\n \nDid he jump . . . or was he pushed?\n \n \n\n \nThen a second body is found on a patch of wasteland in Greenborough town. Bound at the wrist and ankles, throat sliced from ear to ear.\n \n \n\n \nIs there a connection? And what does Nikki's partner, DS Joseph Easter, know that he's not telling?\n \n \n\n \nThe Setting\n \nThe Lincolnshire Fens: great open skies brood over marshes, farmland, and nature reserves. It is not easy terrain for the Fenland Constabulary to police: with remote Fen villages, dangerous and often misty lanes, and poor telephone coverage. There are still villages where the oldest residents have never set foot outside their own farmland. A visit to the nearest town is a major event. But it has a strange airy beauty to it, and above it all are the biggest skies you've ever seen.\n \n \n\n \nThis totally gripping mystery is perfect for fans of L.J. Ross, Angela Marsons, J.D. Kirk, Elly Griffiths and Ann Cleeves.\n
