The Look Back: New and Selected Poems - Michael Jennings

Descriere The Look Back: New and Selected Poems - Michael Jennings

\nThe Look Back is\n \n \n\n \n...a journal of the poet's progress through time, across varied horizons, and within personally-\n \nsignificant as well as culturally- and geographically-shared landscapes, all presented in accessible and\n \nfamiliar yet original language.\n \n--Jonas Zdanys, Poetry International\n \n \n\n \nThe geographies of Jennings' life permeate his poems...the landscape is a character in its own right.\n \nIt is a presence infiltrating all that lives within it.\n \n--Bob Darling The Tar River Poetry Review\n \n \n\n \nHis satisfying lines sing with memory, endured longing, and an imperfect sense of self, striving to\n \nmake sense of mortality.\n \n--Ken Hada, World Literature Today\n \n \n\n \nReading the love lyrics...feels like falling in love. We follow the development of a romance\n \nthat...turns the tawdry dross of adultery into the gold of clean-washed emotion. Everything sparkles\n \nfreshly in these poems.\n \n--Jay Rogoff The Southern Review\n \n \n\n \n...a Muse book for the most part, deftly dancing with death and the seasons, full of wisdom and\n \nrhyme, assonance and alliteration, pace, silence, love, all those elements that are poetry or should\n \ndefine what poetry is.\n \n--Kerry Shawn Keys, Rain Taxi\n \n \n\n \nHis gift is to reflect the immensity of life, both exterior and interior.\n \n--Susan Deer Cloud, Stone Canoe\n
