Descriere Calling All Future Voters! - Laura Atkins

\nCalling All Future Voters! follows the E-Squad as they mobilize their community to vote. Blending narrative and educational content, this book is a call to action encouraging readers (young and old) to understand their rights and responsibilities in a democracy. \n \nThe kids of the E-Squad afterschool troop are working on their newest project: voting. But as they conduct a survey in their neighborhood, they realize that voting isn't easy for everyone, and that many are still fighting for the right to vote. Guided by Mama Cheryl, a seasoned voting rights advocate, the kids learn about the importance of voting and its impact on their community. Determined to help, the E-Squad mobilizes people to vote and discovers how their collective action can make a difference.\n \nCo-written by an award-winning children's book author and two voting rights experts, Calling All FutureVoters! explores the history of voting rights and highlights our country's ongoing struggle for a more inclusive democracy.\n \nIncludes backmatter information on how to get kids involved in democracy, voter rights resources, more information about voter rights and an interview with co-author and voting rights expert, Edward A. Hailes Jr. Additional free downloadable resources on how to hold a mock election, conduct a voting rights community survey (like the one the E-Squad does), and more voter rights information are available at the publisher's website, www.gloobooks.com.\n
