Descriere A Future of Her Own - Samantha Quamma

\nRamona steps into college life bright-eyed and hopeful, but she soon discovers the outrageous restrictions of 1960s' society and collegiate life limit women like her, and she decides to fight back. We watch Ramona grow into a brave, moraled young woman who won't let anyone use her gender to hold her down. -Kerry Chaput, award-winning author of the Defying the Crown series\n \nDetermined to have the education, and by extension the freedom, that her single mother never had, first-generation college student Ramona Bronson must balance the demands of college life with funding her tuition.\n \nAs the fall term of 1965 begins, Ramona is reassigned to the night shift waitressing at Dusty's Drive-In, which closes after the female-only campus curfew. Panicked because she needs her job to pay tuition, Ramona petitions to appeal the curfew on the advice of her friend Dimitri. When rejected by the dean, citing safety concerns for female students, Ramona turns to Dimitri's older brother, Theo, a leader in the campus anti-war movement, for help.\n \nExposure to the world of activism through new friends, who become family, reveals that the curfew is one of countless inequities toward women on campus-and Ramona's petition is only the beginning. Ramona will have to decide whether she's willing to risk the future she prizes in order to break down an unfair system.\n \nA Future of Her Own will inspire the righteous, rebellious spirit in us all.\n
