\nFrom the author of the popular Eventing Series, a brand new standalone hardcover, set in Florida horse country and featuring a fresh set of characters \n \nBrooke believes in the American horse girl dream: with enough pluck, she can achieve greatness. When she can't even get her horse around a basic cross-country course, Brooke finally realizes the bitter truth: she's not going to make it. But that realization is followed by another one: she has to. Although she's been trying to balance her dream of eventing with college and a future career, Brooke feels compelled to throw caution to the wind and pursue eventing full-time, landing an apprenticeship with the author of her favorite book, Eddie O'Neill himself. \n \nAt the O'Neill farm, Brooke finds out that Eddie left a lot of harsh reality off the page. Still, she can't deny her horse's improvement at their first event, as they leave their competitors in the dust. With her skyrocketing success, Brooke loses track of the line between personal ambition and her horse's welfare--until her horse rebels dramatically in front of the judges, forcing her to reckon with the rough training methods she has accepted. Should Brooke trust one of the great champions of her sport, even when his advice goes what her gut and her horse are telling her? How much is Brooke willing to give up in order to defend the sport she loves? \n \nSet in the equestrian community of Ocala, Florida, this never-before-published standalone novel expands the world of the Eventing Series, introducing a new and endearing cast of characters. Against a riveting high stakes backdrop, Reinert explores the passions which drive us, the love affairs which fuel us, and the partnerships--both animal and human--which help us thrive and find ourselves.\n
