Descriere Arab Design Now: 2024 - Rana Beiruti

\nDesigners from across the Arab world reinterpreting and preserving a rich cultural heritage through contemporary design\n \nFeaturing over 250 color illustrations, Arab Design Now presents a survey of local and regional design talent across disciplines, from architectural and material innovations to contemporary crafts, furniture, fashion, and graphic and object design. There are lots of stories and messages in the works, says Rana Beiruti, curator of the show on which this book is based. It was important to demonstrate that the Arab world is ... a very diverse landscape of cultures, influences and craft. Working across themes of material and visual culture and expression, environmental and innovative use of materials, and considerations of technique, detail, pattern and aesthetics, this volume highlights design excellence from across the region of the Levant, the Gulf and North Africa. Looking beyond a globalized or imported design language, this book is an indispensable guide to design in the Arab world today. \n \nThis book was published in conjunction with Qatar Museums\n
