Delve into the history and stories of Ireland's mystical past in this fantasy adventure. The story is set primarily in the beautiful and magical west of Ireland, including Achill Island and Clew Bay, but some scenes take place in Wales, where most of the children live. While predominantly featuring Irish mythical creatures, the story also includes the feared and respected Welsh Dragon, Vala. The book is filled with pictures to help inspire the imagination and educate children about creatures and folklore legends such as the Púca, Aoife, and the Irish sea queen, Mebd, not forgetting the notorious Pirate Queen, Gráinne Ní Mháille. Even the most fearsome creatures can have a softer side, and you'll discover which one is not as scary as you might think. I hope you enjoy the book, and maybe it will inspire you to delve into the history and stories of Ireland and its mystical past. You could even travel the Wild Atlantic Way, where you will come across even more culture and tales. You never know; you might fall in love with this beautiful Emerald Isle and its people.
