The Lord's Prayer: An Esoteric Christian Perspective - Adrian Anderson

Descriere The Lord's Prayer: An Esoteric Christian Perspective - Adrian Anderson

\nDr. Anderson's spiritual insights and linguistic expertise have made him a leading scholar in both the world-view of Rudolf Steiner and in the spiritual understanding of ancient Greek and Coptic Christian texts.\n \nIn The Lord's Prayer - an esoteric Christian perspective, he presents the deeper meaning of the seven pleas of this Prayer, demonstrating that these are correlated to the sevenfold structure of the human being's soul and spirit, as Rudolf Steiner pointed out.\n \nThe ancient Greek text supports Rudolf Steiner's explanation of the seven pleas; so the profound implications of his perspective are made clear.\n \nThe mysterious Greek word 'epiousion' has for centuries been translated as 'daily' bread, but the author's academically grounded research shows its intended meaning is quite different.\n \nSt. Jerome records that an ancient Hebrew version of the Prayer has a word to describe the 'daily' bread; this book reveals the implications of this word, going beyond the limited nature of Jerome's interpretation.\n \nA version of the prayer in Luke's Gospel is discussed, and the origin and esoteric meaning of the 'doxology' or the poetic ending of the Prayer, is also considered.\n
