Descriere Saint Peter the Athonite - St Gregory Palamas

\nFor what reason is it generally\n \nunknown, since the contents\n \nare in no way inferior to that\n \nof the great saints from all ages who\n \nare famous for their virtue? You all\n \nknow who I am talking about, unless\n \nsomeone is ignorant of this famous\n \nMount Athos and the Peter named\n \nafter it. He was our very first native and\n \nlocal champion. After overthrowing\n \nthe adversary of the whole earth\n \non this very ground, he then in this\n \nvery place became the first trophy of\n \nvictory over the enmity of him who\n \nstands against us; and consequently, \n \nby sowing the seed of good works in\n \ndue season, it eventually sprouted, \n \ngrew up, and bore fruit.\n
